Open Seat On The Board

Vermont Bar Foundation President Joseph Cahill announces an open seat on the Vermont Bar Foundation board to be filled from the Chittenden County Region* saying, “If you are interested in improving access to justice for Vermonters, we invite you to consider serving with us as we work to fulfill the VBF’s goals.”

The VBF Vision

The Vermont Bar Foundation supports efforts to ensure that all Vermonters understand and have meaningful access to the justice system.

The VBF Mission

The Vermont Bar Foundation supports access to justice in Vermont by obtaining and distributing funds to programs that provide legal services to disadvantaged Vermonters or that educate the general public about the courts and legal matters.

Board Composition

Every attorney licensed in Vermont in active status and all serving judges are members of the Vermont Bar Foundation, and as such, are eligible to serve on the board.

Details

Terms are two years long.  Currently, the board meets quarterly on the second Monday in February, May, August and November from 1-3 p.m. in Montpelier.  Telephone attendance is always welcome.

Note: The next February meeting will occur on Friday, February 12, 2010, followed by a joint meeting with the VBA Board of Managers.
